The Last Democrat Dumbo

America has barely survived the worst President ever to serve in the office. Yes, Mr. Obama gets the trophy. There is about 60 hours left of his term in office and he is using it to sabotage his successor. This fits perfectly with his lack of character. Yesterday he released four more terrorists that we were housing in Gitmo, and returned them to the middle east to fight us again. A bitter, petulant and stupid action. This Mr. Obama is the same guy that commuted the sentences of more convicted criminals and more military prisoners during his eight years in office than any other President in recent memory. Now isn't that just great?

Recently he threw out the sentence of the soldier that gave Wikileaks highly classified information that many people thought was responsible for the death of active duty soldiers. He didn't pardon the guy or declare that he was innocent. He just thought the sentence was too harsh. At the time of this traitor's trial most people thought the soldier had clearly earned a capital conviction, but the sentence was reduced to long years of jail time by the judge. I wonder if the families of those men that he killed agree.  There was 35 or so more years to go when President Obama signed the release. It should never have happened. 

Back to the point. There is only a few hours left before incoming President Trump replaces outgoing Barack Obama - who has continuously attacked and degraded Mr. Trump and publicly supported the Democratic Party machine's discredited Hillary Clinton during the campaign. She lost and Trump won. Mr. Obama can not accept it. The ultra-liberal establishment just can't believe he actually won the election. Stupid is as stupid does. Now, in the last 30 days or so of his lame-duck presidency, Mr. Obama is doing everything he can to assure a conflicted transition of power. He is unquestionably very intelligent, charismatic, suave and an excellent speaker. He is now also proving to be a very bitter and nasty person.

A few liberal Democratic members of Congress have decided that they will not attend the inauguration. Several have openly declared that they will never cooperate with legislation developed by President Trump's administration. This makes them, in my opinion, anti-American dumbos. They should be disciplined somehow by their own party. This is America and we have a tradition of trying to heal the wounds and join together to help the new administration get in gear. Whether liberal, conservative, Republican, Democrat or other, it's important that all Americans recognize the new President, respect his office, and try to work with his administration. 

 If any of us want to protest to any political activity whatever, there are hundreds of ways to legally and peacefully do so. 

 PEACEFUL PROTEST  -  YES. ANY TIME.
VIOLENT RIOTS  -  NEVER. PUT THEM IN JAIL.

Why Blackwater Mercenaries

Over some years the name Blackwater shows  up in the news. It is, by their own estimation, the largest mercenary group in the world. I think I first noticed it when reports from Iraq mentioned they were employed (by whom?) to escort and protect members of the Iraqi government from place to place. Then I became aware that they had joined several of the firefights between our marines and Iraqi enemies. I wondered just how these mercenaries (that supposedly came from the United States) were  hired by someone (who?) to fight? That led to the question of just who would be responsible if a situation involved the accidental killing of an innocent bystander? Gloves Off

. OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS BETRAYED OUR TRUST AGAIN. Whether we are Democrat or Republican, Liberal or Conservative, makes no difference at all. Our legislators voted according to "what's best for them". It was clear that the people want to reduce the costs and improve access to our overall health care system. Peter Arnett Visits The Geezers

PETER ARNETT 7-22-2010 Yesterday our guest at the  Geezer's Book Club meeting was the intrepid journalist, Peter Arnett.  Ray Herndon, one of our regular members, has known Peter Arnett for over  40 years. They were friendly competitive reporters during the war in Viet Nam, and the friendship has survived several wars since.  Peter began speaking with an overview of his time in  Viet Nam, and then briefly related a few highlights of the first 1st and 2nd war in Iraq.  After taking a deep breath, Peter focused on the intended subject of the day, China and the Chinese people.   CHINA Peter is now teaching journalism at a college about 400 miles north of Hong Kong, near the Chinese coast.
